Sitting just west of Joshua Creek, across Eighth Line, you’ll find the area we affectionately call its affordable twin sister: Wedgewood Creek in Oakville. Wedgewood Creek and Joshua Creek are so similar that people often lump them into a greater community called “Iroquois Ridge.” But there’s a meaningful price difference between the two neighbourhoods once you cross west over Eighth Line.
Much of Wedgewood Creek was built up by the same builders, at the same time, as Joshua Creek — but Wedgewood Creek also has a stock of older and smaller homes. This creates a lower average sale price across all home types, and a lower entry price into the community overall.
The neighbourhood is slightly more affordable, but there are homes here that rival Joshua Creek in size and finish. Wedgewood Creek also shares the same highly ranked high school and French Immersion elementary school as Joshua Creek — making it a strong option for buyers who want into a top-performing school catchment while saving on entry price.

Homes for Sale in Wedgewood Creek: What to Expect
Wedgewood Creek was built up over three decades, primarily during the mid-1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. Most homes are two-storey, 4-bedroom homes, most with double or triple car garages.
While the newer section of Wedgewood Creek closely resembles the west side of Joshua Creek, the neighbourhood also has older homes to the southeast and far west. These homes typically feature more traditional finishes like formal dining rooms, separate living rooms, and lower ceiling heights, along with the benefit of larger, more mature lots. They also tend to come at a more affordable price point than comparable homes in Joshua Creek.
These homes offer strong long-term value: the same fundamentals that make Joshua Creek desirable, at a slightly lower entry cost.

Getting Around: Commute & Transit
Wedgewood Creek’s central, established location gives residents easy access to the QEW, Highway 403, and Highway 407, and it’s a short drive from Oakville GO Station. The Lakeshore West line also runs toward Hamilton, with an Oakville GO-to-Hamilton GO ride of roughly 40 minutes. Local Oakville Transit bus routes run through the neighbourhood as well, connecting residents to the GO station and surrounding retail.
Shopping Around Wedgewood Creek
Wedgewood Creek sits at the doorstep of two major retail centres.
In the northwest, the largest and newest retail centre is anchored by Walmart Supercentre, Longo’s, Real Canadian Superstore, and Canadian Tire, alongside two to three dozen smaller retailers offering everything from quick takeout to a sit-down steak dinner.
In the southeast — in the more established part of the neighbourhood — you’ll find a retail plaza anchored by Metro, featuring bakeries, bars, and a local breakfast spot.
Parks, Recreation & Community
Wedgewood Creek was designed as a master-planned community and features established parks, a trail system, and the same excellent community centre shared with Joshua Creek. The Iroquois Ridge Community Centre and Library — combined with Iroquois Ridge High School — is a shared amenity for both neighbourhoods, offering swimming, a fitness centre, a gym, tennis courts, a baseball diamond, and more.

Schools in Wedgewood Creek
Wedgewood Creek falls within both the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board, and, like its neighbour Joshua Creek, benefits from some of the best-performing schools in Ontario.
Falgarwood Public School (JK–8) is the regular-track public elementary school serving most of the neighbourhood, feeding into Iroquois Ridge for high school. Parents love Falgarwood, though it ranks average on the Fraser Institute guideline — a rating that can be affected by the school’s special education programming.
Munn’s Public School (Grades 2–8) is a highly ranked French Immersion school. Programming starts at Grade 2 here; students who need French Immersion earlier begin at Falgarwood and transfer after Grade 1.
Iroquois Ridge High School, shared with Joshua Creek and located next to the community centre, is one of the top-performing secondary schools in the province — rated 9.3 out of 10 in the Fraser Institute’s 2025 secondary school report card, tying it with a small group of Ontario’s highest-performing schools. It currently ranks in the top 10 province-wide.
On the Catholic side, St. Marguerite d’Youville Catholic Elementary School (JK–8, with French Immersion available) serves the area and has scored in the 8.0–8.5 range across recent Fraser Institute report cards, feeding into Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School (achieving a 7.2/10 ranking)
School boundaries and rankings shift over time — prospective buyers should confirm current catchments directly with the relevant school board before making a decision based on a specific address.
